Parrot.MD was founded initially as a peer-to-peer platform to connect doctors with other credentialed physicians to cover call shifts and provide a secondary income for doctors with student debt.
The freelance developer Parrot.MD started working with couldn’t keep up with the complexity of building an on-demand app, so they chose JMG to develop its technology platform.
JMG built custom iOS and Android apps that facilitated call assignment trades and processed payment exchanges. The apps helped Parrot.MD secure $650,000 in funding from its first raise, but market traction wasn't what Parrot.MD anticipated.
After a few years of market testing, Parrot.MD decided to pivot its technology platform toward healthcare facilities that need to streamline hospital staffing.
Version 1's features were no longer relevant, and to avoid technical debt, JMG built a purpose-driven solution that delivered value to all stakeholders.
To make Parrot.MD's technology stack more future-proof, JMG migrated its iOS app from Objective-C to SwiftUI and converted its Android app from Kotlin to Jetpack Compose.
