The Great Clips app minimizes onsite wait time by allowing customers to check into a virtual line and walk into the salon when it’s their turn.

Challenge

The Great Clips team hoped to improve their app store rating with an updated design and new features for salons and customers.

Solution

Great Clips had numerous vendors working on different areas of its app. JMG happily partnered with another agency to execute the design and build of new features.


We strategized how to orchestrate all the vendors working on this project, defining roles so we could all deliver seamlessly. 


While redesigning the iOS and Android apps, JMG built new features that allowed customers to create profiles, set favorite salons, and receive appointment reminders. 


In conjunction with improving the Great Clips app for customers, JMG helped build Great Clips Connect for salon leaders to learn about sessions, speakers, and Great Clips initiatives, connect with franchisees and general managers, and collect and share presentations, materials, and resources with their teams.

Results

An in-app prompt asked users to leave a 5-star review if they had a good experience using the app, which increased its average rating to 4.9 stars.


In-app messaging and promotional alert features have eased communication channels between Great Clips salons and their customer base, and the app’s new framework is now set up to accommodate future enhancements.
